The One Sided Life

Life is more than what we’ve seen or heard
It’s deep, broad, and all-encompassing
It can fit perfectly
Into the number of dimensions you wish to see it
A mystery our feeble mind can’t decipher

While some people’s life choice is just
To be born, only to go back to earth
Soon forgotten even by their own
And the number of years spent here
Marked merely by a slab in remembrance

Some are also only here to acquire
Working at all times and season
Only for all that they’ve laboured for
Is being wiped out after their exit
A life with no future perspective in mind

But the all-encompassing life is that
Which has come to bless and liberate
To build up, empower and lighten people’s burden
A life in selfless service to God and humanity
A type of life that knows nothing remains forever
But all slip away like the grain of sand
