Would You Have Believed

Would you have believed me

When we first saw ourselves the other day

At the Rawlins evening dance as invitees

You look so dashing and breath-taking

And the cool of the evening doing its part

Somehow filtered your already exquisite look

Into a finessed glamorous “modella” appearance

So detailed in every sense of my view

Through these brown lenses of mine

That was starring at you from a not-too-far distance

The picture of a moment well captured in memorial

For days I'll have to reminisce about you

Would you have believed my words?

Spoken out of a sincere and loving heart

In concise to your appearance that evening under the oaks

Which had my rigid heart all fluttering away

Like a boat on a waving sea, all-dancing

Dramatic like the appearance of the rainbow in the cloud

Making me tingle in my thoughts of you

So I had to keep my silence in your presence

While allowing my eyes heavily resting on your face

To do all the talking my lips couldn't convey

Words weighed in love tons, heavy as the earth

Would you have believed me that evening

During the exquisite dance, we had together

Involving all the twist and turn at close range

With your cherubic body pressed to mine in style

That I couldn’t help but feel the aura of your spirit

Being a result of my inquisitive and longing mind

That had been observing the whole of you from a distance

Taking advantage of the blissful rhythmical moment

A moment so sensational that had me mesmerized

By the whole of you, I’ve been longing for

Now rested within my arms

I do hope you’ll believe me, lovely

That you’ve had me hypnotized by your beauty

All through that evening, since I first saw you

A figure well enhanced by your delicate attire

And your distinguished sharp mind doing the best of it

So synchronized with the brightness of your appearance

Had me wrapped up like roses in a bouquet

A present only deserving to a queen like you
