Fireworks

It was the last week in November, all hazy

When I heard a loud bang from a distance

Only to peep and saw flickers in the sky

Then it occurred to me, Ah! it's that time of the year again

When we see those burst of colours and a dazzling skyline

Lost in its wondrous, fleeting and gorgeous view

I was reminded of life's impermanent shade

A spark, a soar, a fading and a distant gleam

A testament to life's ephemeral dream

Your journey with people could make you happy today

And tomorrow it may be filled with sadness, that's okay

If there's sadness, there will always be happiness too

Let go of sorrow, embrace joy like a close kin

Write your own story, leave a radiant trace

Happiness and sadness are a constantly shifting tide

Like fireworks, let some emotions subside

Hold onto blissful memories, let go of the rest

Your happiness is your own, it's a personal quest

Just like fireworks, shine bright, burn bold

Leave your mark, unseen but forever serene
