Silent Pain

In the depths of silence, pain resides

Aching regret, where conscience hides

I should have acted, with purpose and might

But laziness consumed, and obscured my sight

The sands of time slipped through my grasp

As I let moments fade away, like a dream

The needful tasks left untouched and ignored

Now haunt my thoughts, as sorrow is poured

Oh, the bitter taste of hindsight's sting

Echoing within, the choices that I bring

Silent pain envelops my weary soul

Reminding me of the toll of my negligent role

But lessons learned, however late they may be

Should not be dismissed, but dearly embraced

For in remorse, there lies a silver line

To seize the day, before it leaves us behind

So heed this advice, let it not be in vain

Make hay while the sun is shining, no time to disdain

Act with purpose, and let laziness depart

Embrace the present, with a passionate heart

For in the silence of regret and pain

We find the strength to rise again and proclaim

That though mistakes may linger, within our core

It's never too late to strive for something more
